# Administrate project boards as an Admin

# Who can administrate board settings? 

Platform administrators can change project board settings in the Administration Settings. 

# How to manage board settings? 

Maximize efficiency in your organization with enhanced board management features. Empower admins with custom board settings and secure consistency by locking board editions to prevent unwanted changes.

## Enable All boards view

Gain panoramic insight into your organization's workflow by enabling a consolidated view of **all task boards**. With this feature, you can effortlessly oversee progress across circles. Simply go to **Administration Settings** and enable the view in the **Projects** tab.

Once activated, **All boards** view will be available in the Projects App.

## Define board creation

Align your organization to best board creation practices by configuring **board creation settings.** Based on your management needs, the **admins** can customize them to:

* Enable or disable **automatic board creation** for new circles,
* When automatic board creation is **enabled**, define **multiple** board creation.

## Lock board edition

Prevent all members, including **Admins**, from **changing the layout** and **settings** of any board in your organization. When this setting is enabled, **all existing** boards will be **locked** in their current state.

# Manage board templates settings

As an **Admin**, you can align the entire organization on common project management practices. By accessing board template settings, the board format can be predefined for **newly created boards** for all your organization. In order to customize the boards, you can use following settings:

* **Columns layout** (name, order, colour) to o ensure all boards created in your organization follow the same structure.
* **Completion column** for checked tasks to be automatically moved to.
* **Board privacy** to decide whether project boards are visible to all organization members or board members only.
* **Board assignation** to define who can manage board assignation.
* **Board layout** edition rights to know who can manage board layout.

# Introduce the distinction between Projects and Actions

With the Holacracy App, you can easily introduce distinction between Projects and Actions, according to your work methodology like Holacracy use. In the **Holacracy** tab of your **Administration Settings**, go to **Project Settings** and enable the **Projects&Actions toggle button**.

When activated, the distinction between Projects and Actions will be visible on your project boards and cards.
