# How to make your tasks private?

Apply privacy to first level tasks to organize your work and structure transparency in the organization. This feature ensures your work aligns with your priorities, protecting sensitive information at the same time.

# Make board tasks private

Within public project boards, all members can make **first level tasks** and **all their subtasks private.** Then, when private, only board members will be able to see them.

* Open your **task card**
* Click on the **Apply privacy** button on the right side menu
* **Confirm to** make the task private

Once a task is made as private, a **lock icon** will appear next to its name to highlight its status.

📌 **Note**: Privacy **cannot** be applied or removed on tasks in a **private board.** You can change your board privacy in [board administration settings](https://help.holaspirit.com/en/article/administrate-project-boards-as-an-admin-1fb3uo/).

# Make your personal tasks private

You can make tasks assigned only to you **not visible to other members**. Make **first level off board tasks** and **their subtasks** private, to work on tasks which only you (or other members assigned to it) can see.

* Open your **task card**
* Click on the **Apply privacy** button on the right side menu
* **Confirm to** make the task private

# Remove privacy from tasks

To remove the task privacy, find the **Remove privacy** button, click on it, and **confirm**. The task will become public and visible for all members again.
