Governance documentation works best when it feels natural and aligns with your organization’s unique language and practices! With editing possibilities, admins can customize core and custom field names to reflect your team's terminology. This ensures smoother adoption, stronger alignment, and a governance system that truly resonates with your organization.

Manage core fields for roles and circles

👤 Only platform administrators can customize governance fields.

Get ready to dive into the world of governance core fields! Customize your Purpose, Domains, Accountabilities, and Policies name to align with your organization's practices.

  • Go to Governance Fields section in your Administration Settings

  • Click on Edit in the three-dots menu next to the chosen field

  • Insert its new name

  • Click on Save to confirm

📌 Note: Editing governance fields can be restricted with Holacracy App

The content of core governance fields can be edited by members of the given role or circle on its circle page. There are two possibilities: they can be edited in free-decision more or by governance proposal within the consent-decision mode.

Manage custom fields for roles and circles

It's time to play with governance custom fields! Easily add, edit, and delete them to personalise your role and circle pages.

  • Go to Custom fields in Administration Settings

  • Click on the Add custom field button

  • Complete the Name and Description

  • Select the type of your custom field:

    • Single select

    • Multiselect

    • Text

    • List

    • No display (field is created, contents are saved, but it does not show on role and circle pages)

  • Decide whether you would like to apply it to roles, circles or both

  • Click on Create field to confirm

To edit or delete governance custom fields, click in their three-dots menu and select the desired option.

📌 Note: You can order added custom fields with drag and drop. Their order on the role and circle pages will be the same as in the administration settings.
